A Tour of Our Tree, Day 8

Somehow, in all my growing up and early adult years I missed seeing It’s A Wonderful Life.  It wasn’t until sometime when we were living in Texas and the kids were small that I was finally introduced to this classic Christmas movie.  Christmas movies became a part of our Christmas tradition with the advent (no pun intended) of the VCR.  There are certain movies that are “must sees” during this season.  We’ve already watched White Christmas and our perennial favorite, always planned for Christmas Eve, is The Muppet Christmas Carol, but it doesn’t really feel like Christmas until I’ve heard Jimmy Stewart say, “I want to live again!”

I’m not sure where it came from, but there’s an ornament on our tree that I always like to find and place in a prominent position.  It’s a little bell attached to a long gold ribbon.  It even has a rose in the middle of the bow to remind me of Zuzu’s petals.  I love to ring it and think, “Attaboy, Clarence!”
